Paris Saint-Germain Defeats Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Secure Trophee des Champions Super Cup in the Middle East.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now claimed the prestigious cup on fourteen different times.

The Parisian giants required a dramatic leveler followed by a perfect penalty shootout to get past Marseille in Kuwait and secure a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup title.

The Champions League holders seemed to be sailing towards a straightforward win in the showdown featuring the French league champions and the Coupe de France holders after Ousmane Dembele found the scoring in the opening stages.

However, the southern French side fired two times in the closing moments to take a shock advantage. First, Mason Greenwood converted from the penalty spot, before the defender inadvertently directed the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking twist of events, the Portuguese striker grabbed a crucial equaliser in the dying seconds to force the contest into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then emerged as the hero, saving crucial kicks from Matt O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

In the shootout, Goncalo Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and Desire Doue all converted with composure for PSG to seal a convincing penalty victory.

The record winners PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Olympique de Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this competition for the 12th time in the past 13 seasons.
